Health Education – PCFRM
The Backyard, a non-profit corporation since 2004, has served the community by collecting information and distributing user-friendly educational brochures on alternative health practices. The brochures relate methods of alternative health care in comprehensive and simplistic terms to patients visiting health care clinics in California. The brochures were popular enough to develop a specific sub-committee of The Backyard, termed Patient Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCFRM). PCFRM was formed in order to focus on alternative health and well being literature. A web-site was developed (www.PCFRM.org) as an active forum for the collection and distribution of new information on alternative therapies, providers serving alternative health needs and links to alternative health websites. Brochures continue to be distributed to free and low cost clinics throughout California.
